Poem: The Dark Spaces

The Dark Spaces

The lights are bright,
colorful, dancing,
glittery, like a siren’s dancing
veils, dancing

for the crowds
who see only light, only
what is meant to be seen,
happy slaves

to the obvious;
blissful,
unaware,
not caring about the dark spaces

you see, the places
between the light,
full of mystery
and danger.

Both visions are real.
light and dark competing
for your soul, whose secret is
that you need

both.
