Life and Art
It’s messy because
there is no black and white,
not even gray,
but a cacophony of colors,
constantly mixing, blending,
layering one on the other
each new layer an adventure
that can lead to the perfect painting
or
something so wrong,
so flawed,
so damaged
that you are tempted to throw it away
instead of setting it on the easel,
and staring hard and long at your failure
until you see beyond it, until
you learn to see like God, until
you grasp at last the glorious lesson
of the beauty behind the scars.
