Poem: The Logic of Love

The Logic of Love

The glory of it is
that it does not have to make sense.

You do not have to understand it
or know what it is.

It does not have to have purpose
and reason is the least of it’s virtues.

It is enough in itself, magical,
powerful beyond your wildest imagining,

unfathomable, a thing of light,
at times blotted by clouds,

but never conquered, always emerging
brighter and more colorful

than you remembered.

The second poem in what is becoming a small series on Love.

The picture? I have no idea WHAT it is. I saw it in an antique shop and fell in love with it. I was blissfully broke at the time, or it would be in my house. But fortunately I had my camera. You can click on it for a larger version.
