Love is Not Neat
Love is not neat,
or orderly;
It cannot be labeled or filed.
It is rusty and worn,
bright and flowery,
hard of hearing
and half blind.
Love is not an antique
or heirloom,
not a fear or firework remembered.
Love is not safe,
but rife with risk
worth the leap,
worth the riotous beating of your heart,
the passion and fear,
worth,
always, always worth
everything.
