Poem: Winter Love

sidewalk

Winter Love

In the early morning I listen
to the fall of snow,
the soft almost sound
that disappears
at the slightest distraction.

I listen to the wind,
invisible and gentle,
whispering so quietly
that you cannot be sure
if it is bring storm or sun.

I listen to my heart beat
faster at the thought of you
so far away, but inching
ever closer, bringing with you,
spring

About this poem.

If you’ve ever had to love at a distance, whether a distance of miles or a distance created by a fearful heart,  then you get it.

The picture was taken from my front porch this morning, as I listened to the snow fall.
