This poem, which I rediscovered today makes me think of special needs students I work with. Too often the things they achieve are over looked in the glare of their “disability” One student recently had a piece of artwork accepted for an art show. When the art teacher requested contact information to send the family an invitation she was told not to bother as they “never show up for anything.” I managed to get the info she needed and the student and one grandparent actually did come to the show opening.
