Poem: Lover’s Moon

Lover’s Moon

Far apart,
yet not,
there is power
in the lover’s moon,
full with madness
of a different kind,
madness
that lights the night
with fire,
that shows the way
where once
there was only darkness.

About this Poem

I didn’t know until this weekend that when there is a full moon on Valentine’s, it’s called the “Lover’s Moon.”  And we had one last night – this is a picture I took of it last night after coming back from dinner.

The poem? Who knows? Poetry often has a mind of it’s own. Truly, sometimes I think I am only a conduit, not a poet.
