Broken Pianos
In the end,
it does not matter,
how the damage was done,
or whether the storm was violent,
fast and lightning filled or
a slow methodical deconstruction.
No,
what matters is
how, or if,
the reconstruction is done,
and the tune you choose
to play
when you are done.
About this poem
“I don’t know why you aren’t bitter.” someone said to me not long ago as I told them about a particularly painful situation from my past.
I shrugged. “I want to be happy.” I said. “There’s no room for happy in bitterness and anger.”.
The picture was taken in Washington, DC.
