The White Spaces
Passion lives in the white spaces,
the room we give ourselves for wildness to grow,
for love to grow,
for our minds to wander and fill.
It is in the white spaces that color leaps,
vibrant into the void.
About this poem
I love white space. I use it in my art. In my creation of ads and graphics. In my poetry. I even like to purposefully leave empty an empty wall in my house, just to have space in my life and home for that perfect piece of art when it shows itself.
At times our lives are too full. Full of activity, of stuff, of things, of our own musings, to leave room for the important things we want, and often mourn. We crowd out God. We crowd out passion. We crowd out creativity and the relationships we, in our deepest hearts, adore and yearn for. We crowd out … joy.
