The Drawer of Odd Things
The drawer is full of odd things,
pieces really, nothing quite complete,
broken things
that you have saved in hopes
that someday they will prove useful.
Sometimes,
they do.
About this poem.
I actually have a drawer in my house known by my kids as the “Drawer of Cool Stuff” – strange little things I’ve picked up over the years that have no value except for curiosity and imagination.
And sometimes, we do the same thing in life, keeping things that perhaps we should let go, just because we think that, for us at least, they have value.
And sometimes they do.
Tom
PS – the picture was taken not of my drawer, but of a flat of odd and ends in an antique fair in Greenwich, NY.

Beautiful, Tom!
