Poem: You Breathe. You Cry.

48

You Breathe. You Cry.

You breathe.
You cry,
the loss beyond your words,
a living thing,
insidious and consuming,
a creature of the night
inside you.

You breathe.
You cry,
releasing your grief
into the sky, releasing
it to paint magic
in your night and beyond.

You breathe.
You cry.
You walk the road,
no longer willing to wait
for the dawn,
you walk to greet it.
