Poem: Colored Carrots

carrots

Colored Carrots

They are not what you expected,
not the comfortable orange color
you have grown up with, but
an odd pinky color, bright, garish,
but strangely eye catching,
an exotic lover becking,
singing to you
with promises of something new
and maybe, just maybe,
better.

About this poem

Yes, it’s kind of about carrots. But it’s also about anything new in our lives – food. things, faith, love, whatever. And when we go for it? Sometimes is disappointing. And sometimes it’s sublime.

The carrots were delicious. Just sayin’
