Forces of Nature
Let the winter come
with it’s bitterness and hard winds.
Let the ice fall from the skies
and cut your skin.
Let it come,
for there is no stopping it,
this force of nature,
this cycle of life.
Let it come,
but for now there are flowers,
and the sun is warm
as love.
Warmth too is a force of nature,
and no less powerful,
and no less
eternal.
About this poem
I believe life runs in cycles, less predictable in their timing than seasons, but no less dependable.
