Poem: Off Kilter

off kilter

Off KIlter

You stumble
and the world slows down,
and in that moment
you see it all,
the errant stone rising from the ground
that catches your foot,
the earth rising to meet you,
cold and hard,
and that place in between
where the all is beautifully off kilter
and out of control,
like art,
like life,
like love.

  1. So casual and yet so potent. I’ve always wanted to learn to write poems of moments, not just emotions that have been dissected in the brain for days. If I ever succeed, I would want to sound sort of like this. 🙂

Stay inspired. And oh, say hello to the sky for me.
