Poetry: Resplendent I Watch You

IMG_8254_resizeResplendent I Watch You

Resplendent I watch you
emerge from that ragged cocoon,
your place of hiding
from the hurt, hiding

from the cruel elements
that have held you captive
for more seasons
than nature ever intended.

And before my eyes, you grow
strong, and more beautiful
than anyone imagined,
even you.

About this poem

One of the great joys in life is when you see someone you love emerge, spread their wings, and grow into who they are.

The photograph was taken up near Niagra Falls.
