Poem: The Simplicity of Vigil

The Simplicity of Vigil

Waiting for death is a simple thing,
measured in breaths, heartbeats,
always in the moment,
vitally alive,
all appearances to the contrary.

About this poem

You discover things in the last days of a loved one’s life. Most of them are about you, not them.

The picture was taken in the bell tower of Rupert United Methodist Church.
