Poem: Curation

Curation

It is a re-creation,
a museum piece,
perfect to look upon,
someone’s idea, with a mix
of science and romance,
a curated might have been,
an invitation to lose oneself in the past
that never quite was.

About this poem

The picture above is of a statue like figure in the Indian exhibit at the NY State Museum in Albany. It left me thinking about how we so often make our own pasts something half remembered, either far better, or far worse than they actually were.
