Foreign Tongues

The problem is
that happiness requires
a whole new language,
a new vocabulary,
new rules of syntax

and
I have never been good at languages

About this poem

I have said it before and I will say it again. I often use poetry to sort things out in my head. Writing about pain and struggle has become second nature to me over the last decade. Writing about good things in my life (and there are many), has been harder.
