Headless
Today, the head can wait.
The thoughts. Logic. Reason.
All those grey cells you count upon?
Useless.
Today,
the heart rules,
emotions buffet you,
lift you, defy
logic and somehow
still make sense,
perhaps more sense
than sense itself
and you wonder how, if
you had loosed your heart sooner
you might be more whole
today.
About this poem
Years ago, I lost trust in my heart. It’s been a long journey back to a place where my head and heart worked together again.
