Poem: Inevitable

Inevitable

The stones are implacable,
cruel in their indifference,
carefully placed to subdue
any hint of life.

And yet, the grass grows,
and left to itself,
will someday cover the stones
with green.

About this poem

I am constantly amazed at the people who have been marginalized, put down, abused and held back by others’ cruelty, and yet, still find ways to live and love. That is why I believe in love’s power.

Oh, yeah, the poem can be about grass too.
