Poem: Daybreak, Horizons and Fire

harbor

Daybreak, Horizons and Fire

No longer young.
Not quite old, yet of an age
where eternity seems so close
that every moment,
every touch,
every intimate moment becomes like treasure,

and so cast off the anchor,
and leave the shore for one last adventure
and claim your one true love
as you sail to meet the sun
and rediscover daybreak, horizons and fire.

About this poem

It’s nice not being too old to love. I hope I stay that way.

The picture was taken at Oswego, NY.
