Poem: Codependency

ivy on the shutters_resize

Codependency

Let the ivy grow,
slow and insidious,
beautifully fatal,
disguised as beauty,
disguised as love.
Let it swallow you,
one leaf at a time,
cover you,
make you something new,
no longer yourself
but a ruin in progress,
lost
one green leaf at a time.

About this poem

I wonder sometimes, how many people lose themselves in others. A lot, I know. All with the best intentions. But lost is lost, no matter the intention.

Sigh.
