Poem: Death by Stuffing

Death by Stuffing

The problem is,
we believe our boxes,
trust our closets,
give credence to the corners
where we sweep it all,
not understanding that is where it festers,
where it grows unchecked,
feasting on the darkness and fear
like the wild beast it is,
until it leaps from the dark
and devours us entirely.

About this poem.

I’ve seen it happen.
