Getting it Backwards
All my life I have thought there were mysteries,
secrets of the universe others saw
and I did not
and so
I dove into the mysteries, a starving man
fed by books and lectures and journeys to wise men,
never sated, never finding the secrets I was sure
were there, finally surrendering
to what I would never know
to find what I did.
About this poem
I was going to call this poem Psalm 46:10, but I already have three poems with that title. Psalm 46:10, is, as people who know me know, my favorite Psalm and reads “Be Still and know I am God.”
Truth is found in the quiet times.
