Sidewalk Truth

This is what they do not tell you,
that you can cover them up,
but your roots will always rise
and break open the perfect falseness,
every time.

About this poem.

So I am writing this and the first draft of the third line said “But your roots will always show”. I HAD to change that line or every woman I know who dyes her hair would make a comment.

As to the poem? Well, it’s not about sidewalks. You can figure the rest.
