Sermon, with Ice
There is ice on the road. Ice on the cars.
Ice falling from the sky.
No one is going anywhere,
and you will spend your day alone
with the woman you love, and two cats.
Nothing to do. No where to go.
You can cut off the phones and celebrate
the wisdom of God,
who obviously knew
just what you needed.
That is my sermon for the day.
A book and blanket call your name.
About this poem
I needed a day off. More than I knew. Today we got ice and freezing rain. No church. God knew what I did not.
But then, that’s how God works.
Tom
Sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day š
I agree!
A poem expressed so nicely about a day off ~ to be with those you love and share special times!
Hope the ice storm has subsided.
