Within

Do not tell me there are no new ways,
no rethinking that can lead us to actually live
the things we believe.

It is time.
Time to redirect the spots of light,
to challenge the dark
with movement and action and refuse to despair.

It is time to believe
the words our holy books lay before us,
and light them afire in our hearts.
No more settling.

It is time to move. To prove,
To forgo the sedimentary satisfaction
that was so comfortable and full of creeping rot.
to understand first, and light new fires

within.
