Poem: More Than Maintenance

More Than Maintenance

Someone painted the barn door recently.
Maintenance, protection
against another few years of storms and weather.
The same color it was before,
not unlike a kiss from the woman you love,
more than the touching of lips,
it is the saving of love, a preservation
with fireworks.

About this poem.

I think kissing is terribly underrated.

The picture was taken about half an hour from my house, in New York State.
