Poem: A Place to Go

A Place to Go

I can remember you in a dress you never wore,
in a place we have never been,
enough of the day dream real that I can get lost in it,
like the second kiss, when tentativeness is abandoned
and emotions take reign.

It is like that, my daydreams, a little too strong perhaps,
but on the other hand, it gives a place
for all those novels, a lifetime of them, to live again
in a strange and wonderful mashup of places
and characters and story lines.

I am not even sure if it matters.
So much truth isn’t any more and if I need
to make up my reality, it may as well be
one of the best, full of joy, beauty
and a kiss on the side.

About this poem

I daydream a lot. A lot.

The picture was taken in Venice.
