The Implements You Cling To
They are the tools of your life and time and time again
you try the newest, the flashy promises and find yourself
walking backwards to the simple tools that have fit your hand
for far too many years.
At times you question whether it is simply because they fit your hand
that you keep them, the impliments you cling to,
or is it simply that you are more aware of the trade off
of promises, flash and noise?
About this poem
I love technology, but I have become wary of equating “new” and “better”. We tend to leap towards the new (in technology, relationships and gods) without really understanding the value of what we have.
