Poem: The Bearing of Storms

The Bearing of Storms

Just on the other side of the wreckage
lies the ocean, full
of promise and peril,

the fencing, toppled and torn,
is not so much a ruin
as an act of defiance,

a maker of dunes,
protector of the tender shoots of sea grass,
worth the bearing of storms.

About this poem

Everything we do, even nothing, carries risk. So choose your risks carefully. Build. Grow. Help others. Love. Make it worth it.

The picture was taken at Herring Cove in Cape Cod.
