The Bravery of Doors
Doors open.
Let in the light.
Provide a place of escape
or entry into a new world.
They open,
even when closed, they open.
Even when locked, they open.
It is only a matter of time and effort
to find what is there,
what you can see
and what you cannot.
Always something more
things just out of sight,
more than you can see
from where you stand.
Only found
by walking through.
The why does not matter.
it may be flight. It may be wonder.
It does not matter, only the action,
the walking past the carefully framed doorway
matters
and provides the full experience
bravery deserves.
About this poem
Life has so many more opportunities than we allow ourselves. Or a poem about doors. Poetry is never about one thing.
Muddling through the doors,
