Far More Fragile
The seagrass moves in the wind,
undulating, dancing, rustling
a far as you can see.
An ocean without water,
without depth.
Far more fragile
than it seems.
About this poem.
About the seagrass that lives on many of the dunes here in Cape Cod. About so many lives that seem strong and sure, and yet are far more fragile than most people realize. Poetry is never about one thing.
The photograph was taken not far from where we are staying in Chatham, Mass.
