Poem: Pools of Light

Pools of Light

Pools of light in a dark house.
Small places where you can see,
where you can read the truth.
Places where you can see
what is really there.
Places we are drawn to
or afraid of.

About this poem.

The Washington Post used to have a slogan – Democracy Dies in Darkness. So does love. Faith. Enthusiasm. Loyalty. Hope.

We live in a world where many prefer to keep us in darkness. But if you live in light, in love, in transparency, people will be drawn to you, and add their own lights.

A poem about the people I know who live in the light.

Or a poem about pools of light in a dark house. Poetry is never about one thing.

The photograph was taken in the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park, NY.

Be well. Be the light.
