Poem: Waiting for Snow

Waiting for Snow.

Outside it is gray. Old snow lies on the ground,
faded white, reflecting the sparse light
from the afternoon sun.

Inside, you sit at your desk,
waiting for the snow, that fresh brightness
that so unexpectedly

falls from dark skies.

  1. There is a nice anticipation of waiting for snow when one is ready for it. Spotting the first flake and thinking “here it comes!” is somehow a settled comfort. (Does that make sense?)I confess I don't like snow, but I like the beginning of it…

  2. Dear Tom, well, I never touch snow….lol….just saw on TV, in Brazil we just have snow in July or August in our winter in the south of Brazil. Anyway, the changing of a season is an expectation..
    Best wishes,
