Poem: Love Laughs

Love-84

Love Laughs

Love is in the air,
a veteran traveler
laughing
at time and age,
at distance,
chuckling at beauty,
aware that it lives
as looks fade,
aware it creates its own beauty,
a thing stronger than sight,
snickering at myths,
both that it is invincible,
or that it is pathetically weak,
aware that is is as strong
as you feed it, no more,
no less,
cackling at the thought
that it is grounded in lust
or boredom,
astonished that anyone could believe
it can live in abuse or captivity,
bemused, totally bemused that anyone believes
there are rules.

About this poem.

Happy Valentine’s Day. I may or may not believe everything in this poem, but I do think, whether we act on it or not, Selena Gomez was right when she said “the heart wants what the heart wants.”.

Have a blessed day my friends and readers. Tell those you love that you love them. Hug your spouse, send cards to your kids. Any one who makes your life better, tell them. What better day than today?

Tom

PS – the picture is not one of mine. It’s a piece of stock photograph from a company I work with in my marketing work. All copyrighted and legal and all that stuff.
