Poem: Mummies

mummies

Mummies

Once so powerful,
now a museum piece,
you wonder
who loved them,
and why,
and if they knew their forever
would be in a glass case
surrounded by ten year old gawkers,
would they have bothered
spending their life
preparing for death.

About this poem

I love mummies and most things Egyptian. This one is in Albany.

  1. Good point! One thing takes care of the death thing…actually the REAL passage into the next LIFE.
