Poem: The Perfect Room

The Perfect Room

It is the perfect room.
Light. Space.
Room for the imagination to rise,
and yet,
two benches
turned away from each other,
like lovers estranged,
ruin the effect,
a memory you would rather not have,
especially
in a perfect room.

About this poem.

A poem about emotional triggers.

The photograph was taken at the Hancock Shaker Village.

    • And some triggers are good! I see things that remind me of good things all the time. There is a particular perfume that when I smell it I am wafted back to my courtship days.
