The Truth
Here is what I know:
It does not matter much
what I say,
or how I feel.
It does not matter that my heart beats faster
when I first see you,
or that it romps when my hand touches you,
or that, when you wear that gown
my imagination soars,
rising like passion itself
in anticipation.
No,
all that matters is what you believe
and what the voices in your head
tell you is true,
or not.
About this poem.
When I began my “Wisdom Cards” blog, I began it with the card at the bottom of this post. Because it is one of the most important things I have learned in my life. Belief is everything. And if we believe we are loved, we feel it. It is our truth. And if we believe we are not worthy of love, or cannot trust others to love us well, then we will never feel it, and that will be our truth.
Whether it’s true, or not.

So true…thanks for sharing another great poem with us!
Truth indeed!
Like the passion in your writing – not just the poems.
Thank you so much. I’ve lived times in my life without that passion, and it’s a sad kind of life indeed. I appreciate that you see it.
I have always heard that the truth will set you free. It has been my experience that this is something to live by. I do believe and this helps out in all areas of my life.
