Poem: Advent

It is in the stillness.
The stopping.
The silence.

It is in the waiting.
The listening
The expectation.

It is in all the things
we rarely do.
But it is there.

About this poem

The word “Advent” comes from a latin term meaning preparation. It is then, for Christians, a season of preparation for the coming of Christ. But most of us spend far more time preparing meals and parties and shopping than preparing our hearts for the spiritual part of the season.

Sigh.  Wanders off his soapbox.
