Poem: The Power of Anyway

Sails 2_resize

The Power of Anyway

Write anyway.
Get up anyway.
Fix the coffee.
No matter how hard.
No matter what the demons say.
They lie.

You know this.
You know they lie,
but they are seductive,
sirens of deceit,
and you have let them lead you
to shipwreck and ruin.

But that is history, your personal mythology
of rising from the dead, from the dark,
that it is less a miracle
than a grinding persistence,
the work of truth, each and every day.
There is no glamour in it,
only survival all built on faith

that your life is worth the work.

About this poem.

Each morning is a battle. One worth fighting. For the victory is in the fight.
