Poem: Semi Restored

Semi Restored

Give me
empty space.

Give me
light.

Give me
reason. Purpose.

Belief
in myself.

Things lost.
Return.

Give me reasons
to celebrate. Push me
past survival.

Help me
dance,

Not a war dance.
There are enough of those.
Help me dance
a love dance,

Help me
hear
your music.
FIll my ears.
Leak out my mouth.

Heal me.
Make me
a balm.

About this poem

I wasn’t feeling it this morning, so I just took a picture and wrote to it. By the time I was done, I WAS feeling it.

The picture was taken at Poplar Forest, Thomas Jefferson’s less famous, but wonderful house in Virginia,

Be well,

Tom
