Poem: Breathtaking

Breathtaking

Your stomach flutters, drops,
slams into your backbone
with a sudden acceleration into darkness
coming out in a loop,
suddenly upside down in the bright sun,
people screaming (or is that you),
a slant to the side, an almost detour
before it all drops away in a climax
as breathtaking as your day.

About this poem

It’s been a couple of weeks.
