Poem: Servicable

Spare parts. Lamps and sockets.
A few lengths of wire.
All in the back room where you build light
in your spare time. Antiques
made, if not whole, at least serviceable
and as you have learned in your life,
that is enough.

About this poem

I love repairing and rewiring old lamps. Bringing light from the parts and pieces. Light doesn’t care if everything is perfect. It is still light.

The picture is of my worktable in the back of the house. I love fixing and rewiring old lamps.
