Poem: Vessels of the Light

Vessels of the Light

Candlesticks. Reproductions, all of them,
accurate except for the wear and tear of time,
All for sale, devoid of candles,
waiting to be filled, fulfilled,
waiting to become
vessels of the light.

About this poem

A pastor’s poem. A hope. A poem about candlesticks. Poems are never about one thing.

The picture was taken at the American Farm Museum in Cooperstown. NY.
