Poem: Waiting for Spring

Waiting for Spring

If you look closely, there are a few flowers
peeking through the bramble,
Yellow against the dry brown of a long grey season,
too much like your heart
waiting for spring.

About this poem

Spring in Vermont is a tease. A smattering of warmth and colors, then frost and rain and mud. Repeat.

Sometimes life is like that too.
