For a Moment, You Feel LIke a Child
For a moment, you feel like a child,
eyes of wonder, taking in every detail
of something as simple and as complicated as a leaf.
Each vein a conduit for food and water, a pathway,
everything leading to green.
For a moment, you feel like a child,
simple hearted, taking in every detail
of something as simple and complicated as love,
each interaction a conduit for bliss and pain, a pathway,
everything tender, so close to perfection
or cataclysm.
About this poem
Love, something that should be so simple, is too often complicated. It can be blisss. Too often the word is used for things that are not love at all. And the line is so very fine.
Inspired by happenings all around me.

Tom,
As usual, I love your photo and comments. My brother, Tom Brown, Jr. “The Tracker” held up a flower and told me about the beauty of nature and God’s creation. Your simple picture reminded me of this! My brother died last August but taught me all about nature. Again, God bless you for all that you do! Dr. Jim Brown
