Along the Tree Line
Just on the other side of the grove
the land grows wilder,
the ground becomes uncertain.
Animals live there in burrows
and hidden in the wildgrass,
at times to pounce, more often in hiding.
and every day you are given the choice
which side of the tree line
you choose to live.
About this poem
I have spent a couple of decades now battling depression, making small headways. It is for me, a choice, succumb or fight. I have chosen to fight.
The choices we have cover choosing to live in a faith (or not). choosing kindness or anger, choosing hope or despair, choosing who we align with, or where we hide. Poetry is never about one thing.
