Poem: Heavier Than Water

water prayer

Heavier Than Water

Let the water wash over you.
Let it’s cold bite into your flesh,
and wake you from your stupor,
sharpen your vision
and leave you breathless with its magic.

Let its dance be your prayer,
each stone below the surface undulating,
transformed moment by moment,
never the same,
an origional tableau with each splash

on your naked skin,
on your naked soul,
hungry for healing,
heavier than water,
waiting for the currents

to wash away the wounds.

About this poem

Sometimes, I feel like I am perpetually healing, never healed.
