Poem: The Vacant Places

The Vacant Places

The holes.
The missing.
The place where peace should live
but something else nests there.
A blankness where love once lived.
Where you are left questioning
yourself,
your value,
slowly picked apart
by the very souls you trusted
with your heart.

About this poem

Ever heard about Gaslighting? You should know about it. It’s a common and horrible form of emotional abuse. And surprisingly common. Someone you know is living it.
